SimpleTexting vs EZ Texting (2026): Which Is Actually Cheaper?

EZ Texting starts at $20 a month. SimpleTexting starts at $39.

If that settled it, this page would be one line long.

It does not settle it, because the two companies charge for completely different things. EZ Texting bills you for how many people are on your list. SimpleTexting bills you for how many messages you send.

So the cheaper option depends almost entirely on the size of your contact list, and the gap between them gets enormous in both directions.

The short answer

  • Under 500 contacts: EZ Texting Launch at $20/mo is genuinely cheaper
  • Over 500 contacts: SimpleTexting wins, and the margin widens fast
  • The catch nobody reads: EZ Texting's 6,000 credits are per year, not per month
  • Seats: SimpleTexting includes 3 users, EZ Texting includes 1

The Prices Side by Side

EZ Texting publishes four tiers. The price is set by your contact count.

EZ Texting plan Price Contacts Credits Users
Launch $20/mo Up to 500 6,000/year 1
Boost $60/mo 500 to 2,000 6,000/year 1
Scale $100/mo 2,000 to 50,000 6,000/year 1
Enterprise From $3,000/mo 50,000+ 200,000/month Custom

Those prices are the annual-billing rates. EZ Texting advertises up to 20% off for paying yearly.

SimpleTexting has no named plans at all. It runs nine tiers priced purely by how many credits you send in a month. One SMS up to 160 characters is one credit, an extended message up to 306 characters is 2, and an MMS is 3.

Credits a month Price Per message
500 $39/mo 7.8 cents
1,000 $59/mo 5.9 cents
2,000 $89/mo 4.5 cents
3,000 $119/mo 4.0 cents
7,500 $239/mo 3.2 cents
15,000 $409/mo 2.7 cents
25,000 $559/mo 2.2 cents
50,000 $909/mo 1.8 cents

That entry tier is 500 credits at $39 a month including a local number, plus a one-time $4 carrier registration fee. Paying yearly saves 20%, and nonprofits get 15% off.

Contacts are unlimited on every tier, no matter which one you are on, and unused credits roll over to the end of the following month.

Both change their pricing often. Check the current numbers before you commit.

They Do Not Charge for the Same Thing

This is the whole comparison, and almost every other article gets it wrong by lining the two prices up as though they measure the same quantity.

EZ Texting sells you list capacity. Moving from Launch to Boost triples your bill and buys you nothing except room for more contacts. The message allowance does not change.

SimpleTexting sells you message volume. Your list can be 200 people or 200,000 and the price is identical. What moves the price is how many texts you send.

So the question is not “which is cheaper.” It is which of your two numbers is bigger: your list, or your send volume.

The 6,000 Credits Are a Yearly Allowance

Here is the detail that catches people out.

EZ Texting's Launch, Boost and Scale plans all include 6,000 credits per year. Not per month.

That works out to 500 messages a month, which is exactly the same allowance as SimpleTexting's $39 entry bundle. The two headline numbers look twelve times apart and describe identical volume.

It also means the Scale plan at $100 a month ships the same 6,000 credits as the Launch plan at $20. You are paying five times as much purely for contact headroom.

What happens when you run out. EZ Texting charges overage per message: 4 cents on Launch, 3.5 cents on Boost, 3 cents on Scale, and 1 cent on Enterprise.

SimpleTexting has no overage charge, because you simply move up a credit tier instead. Going from 500 to 1,000 credits costs $20 more, which works out to 4 cents for each extra message. The step from 1,000 to 2,000 is $30 for 1,000 credits, or 3 cents each.

So the marginal cost is roughly the same on both, somewhere between 3 and 4 cents. The difference is that EZ Texting starts charging it after 6,000 messages a year, while SimpleTexting's allowance is monthly.

Which Is Cheaper for Your List

Assume a modest 500 messages a month, which both entry offerings cover without overage. The only variable is list size.

Your contacts EZ Texting SimpleTexting Cheaper
400 $20/mo (Launch) $39/mo EZ Texting
1,500 $60/mo (Boost) $39/mo SimpleTexting
10,000 $100/mo (Scale) $39/mo SimpleTexting
60,000 From $3,000/mo $39/mo SimpleTexting

The crossover sits at 500 contacts. That is the ceiling on EZ Texting's cheapest plan, and the moment you pass it your bill triples while SimpleTexting's does not move at all.

At 60,000 contacts the comparison stops being a comparison. EZ Texting pushes you into a quote-only Enterprise plan starting at $3,000 a month. SimpleTexting still charges $39, because it never cared how long your list was.

Flip it around and EZ Texting wins. A 300-contact list you text three times a week is roughly 3,900 messages a month. That is heavy send volume on a tiny list, which is the shape EZ Texting prices well and SimpleTexting does not.

What You Get Beyond the Price

SimpleTexting EZ Texting
Priced by Messages sent Contacts stored
Contacts Unlimited Capped by plan
Users included 3 (extra $20/mo) 1 on Launch, Boost, Scale
Credit rollover Yes Annual pool
Overage per message None, you move up a tier 3 to 4 cents
Free trial 14 days, no card Not published
Money-back 30 days Not published
Setup fee $4 one-time registration Telecom fee on Launch

Two of these matter more than the rest.

Seats. SimpleTexting hands you 3 users on the entry configuration. EZ Texting gives you 1, all the way up through the $100 Scale plan. If two people need to answer texts, that is a real difference and not a small one.

The telecom fee. EZ Texting's $20 Launch plan is subject to a telecom fee that Boost and Scale have waived. The amount is not published, so the cheapest plan is the one whose true cost you cannot work out in advance. Budget above $20.

SimpleTexting's trial needs no card, so you can test the workflow before spending anything.

Which Should You Pick

Pick EZ Texting if your list is small and you text it hard. Under 500 contacts, $20 a month is the better deal, and the per-message overage rate is lower than SimpleTexting's once you exceed the allowance. Just remember you get one seat and an unquantified telecom fee.

Pick SimpleTexting if your list is growing. Unlimited contacts means the price you sign up at is the price you pay at 10,000 subscribers. On EZ Texting the same growth walks you from $20 to $100 without adding a single message to your allowance.

The tiebreaker is which number grows faster. If you expect your list to outgrow 500 people, you will cross into SimpleTexting's favour quickly and never cross back. If your list is fixed and your send volume is high, EZ Texting stays ahead.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is EZ Texting cheaper than SimpleTexting?

Only if your contact list is under 500 people. EZ Texting's Launch plan is $20 a month against SimpleTexting's $39 entry configuration. Above 500 contacts EZ Texting moves you to Boost at $60 a month, while SimpleTexting stays at $39 because it does not charge by contact count. At 10,000 contacts EZ Texting costs $100 a month and SimpleTexting still costs $39.

How many texts do you get with EZ Texting?

The Launch, Boost and Scale plans all include 6,000 credits per year, which works out to 500 messages a month. That is the same monthly allowance as SimpleTexting's entry bundle, despite the headline number looking twelve times larger. Enterprise plans include 200,000 credits per month.

Does SimpleTexting have plan tiers?

Not named ones. SimpleTexting removed named plans and now runs nine tiers priced purely by monthly credit volume, from 500 credits at $39 a month up to 50,000 credits at $909, with custom Enterprise pricing above that. Every tier includes the same features, so moving up buys message volume and nothing else. A one-time $4 carrier registration fee applies.

Which one has unlimited contacts?

SimpleTexting. Contacts are unlimited on every configuration, so growing your list never changes your bill. EZ Texting caps contacts by plan: 500 on Launch, 2,000 on Boost, 50,000 on Scale, and above that you need a quote-only Enterprise plan starting at $3,000 a month.

What does it cost to go over your message allowance?

EZ Texting charges overage per message: 4 cents on Launch, 3.5 cents on Boost, 3 cents on Scale, and 1 cent on Enterprise. SimpleTexting has no overage charge; you move up a credit tier instead, which works out to about 4 cents per extra message going from 500 to 1,000 credits and 3 cents from 1,000 to 2,000. The marginal cost is similar on both, but EZ Texting starts charging it after 6,000 messages a year while SimpleTexting's allowance is monthly.

How many users do you get on each?

SimpleTexting includes 3 user seats on every configuration, with extra users at $20 a month each. EZ Texting includes 1 user on the Launch, Boost and Scale plans. For a team where more than one person answers messages, that is one of the clearest differences between them.

Does either offer a free trial?

SimpleTexting offers a 14-day free trial with 50 outgoing messages and no credit card required, plus a 30-day money-back guarantee on paid plans. EZ Texting does not publish trial terms on its pricing page, and says accounts are set up within one business day. Note that EZ Texting's Launch plan is also subject to a telecom fee that is waived on Boost and Scale, so its true entry cost is higher than $20.
